Ionamin
Weight loss programs for the obese are based on an admixture of diet, exercise and medication so as to speed up the process of losing weight. Amongst the more popular weight loss medications is the tablet Ionamin, which like Adipex is an appetite suppressant and is prescribed for obese patients who do not show any progress of weight loss with dieting or exercising. Ionamin is a Phentermine based drug that acts on the central nervous system and should not be mistaken to be a complete remedy for weight loss. It should also not be taken with other weight loss medications as it could result in pulmonary hypertension which though rare, is often fatal.
The primary side effects of the drug are sleeplessness, dry mouth, stomach upset and constipation. These however present only during the initial days of the dosage and should disappear within a few days. However, if they persist it is mandatory that a doctor be consulted. Ionamin is a prescription drug and should not be sold without one. It is a drug that induces dependency and is highly prone to abuse in the wrong hands. For optimal benefits, this drug has to be taken in short spells and in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise plan.
